A one-off and probably rather under-appreciated musician. I grew up when the Monkees were huge, but still regularly listen to Michael Nesmith's songs. RIP MN.

Oh, now that is very sad.
Loved the Monkees as a kid , and then saw Head as a young man and loved them even more.
Nesmith was my favourite of the four.
They may have been a manufactured band, but they recorded some classic songs.

Loved The Monkees a great but under estimated band, maybe due to the larking about in the TV series they were not taken seriously.
RIP.
Iconic 60’s band and MN was a memorable character, I enjoyed repeats of their shows in the late 70’s.

Sad news - enjoyed their music. RIP.
I loved the Monkees as a kid and they produced some classic music which has withstood the test of time.
They themselves became frustrated with their manufactured image, with Nesmith the most accomplished musician of the four, evidently more so foregoing significant income to be released early from the remainder of his contract.
At least he eventually had his mother's inheritance to fall back on who was the inventor of liquid paper, which was an early precursor of Tippex.

Oh that's so sad. I had tickets to see him in Hove about a decade ago and he cancelled for unexplained reasons. My equal favourite in the band with Mickey Dolenz.

Micky Dolenz, the only person to actually look cool whilst singing and playing the drums.
Even Karen Carpenter looked awkward, unless someone wants to prove me wrong.
Singing drummers always look very odd to me.
