Printed by The Holy Grail isn’t it? Vile organ (The Metro) spreading Daily Mail-esque filth and xenophobia free to the commuting masses five times a week.

What a crock of shite...

Even the match stat is bollox "THE HOME SIDE HAS (should be have) NOT WON ANY OF THE LAST NINE MEETINGS BETWEEN THESE TEAMS"

Really ? absolute bollox

Had to double check, but amazingly, it's true. Last home win in any game between us was January 2012 when we won 3-0.

Since then there have been 4 draws and 5 away wins

Oh indeed. Perhaps this should be in the 'Phrases you hate people saying' thread but I hate the way that the American singular for sports teams is replacing the British plural. For us a team is a collective group of individuals, not a singular entity; thus we say "Chelsea have the ball in their half", not "Chelsea has the ball in it's half."

Has is correct isn't it? The home side is singular not plural.

It's always intrigued me https://painintheenglish.com/case/4394

How does someone even make a mistake like that? Maybe someone having a “laugh”?

Far bigger mistakes have been made, Jonathan Liew writing in the Telegraph some years ago, had Southampton as League One Champions in the season that they couldn't keep up.

Was that the Dunk "goal line" clearance from at least a yard inside the goal ?
