I think our first choice away kit would have clashed with their sleeves?
But I agree, all sides should stick to their normal kit, unless there is a clash with the home team's kit.
I would have us in blue and white for all away games bar when the opposition play in blue (or possibly stripes)

There is a pessimistic part of me that thinks we won't see the away kit much as it has already sold out.* Instead the players will be wearing the home kit, which has yet to sell out.

Two away games in four days so the kit team prefer to use different colours - was something that was shared a couple of years ago when the question was asked.
As our home kit wouldn't clash with West Ham's, the away kit will be used against Southampton where the clash of stripes would not be wanted (even though they are different colours).
