[Misc] Nintendo Switch Pro Controller - Worth getting?

The kids are getting a Switch for Xmas and just wondering whether it's worth splashing the cash on a pro controller? Do these really enhance the game play in comparison to the supplied Joy Cons? The games bundled with the console are Animal Crossing and Mario Kart 8 deluxe.

Any tips for first time users of this console?

I would, they are good value for money and I love the fact they don't use batteries.
