Saw it rarely last season but since game one of this season it has been very frequent and deliberate:

Player on the wing, everyone is expecting a normal cross ( = one not reach the head of anyone) but instead puts a hard low ball to the edge of the penalty area. Probably a way to hopefully score more goals as Maupay, Trossard or pretty much anyone is unlikely to head it in.

What do we think? Will it result in some nice GOALS this season?

I liked the Veltman low cross to the 6 yard box, nearly a goal for Tross or Lamps. Would mainly work when attackers are on the front foot, moving forward, and defenders are static (on 6 yard line) or back peddling. Always more exciting than the high cross for me.

The low hard 'killer' cross is the kind of thing Connolly feeds off isn't it? . .. . . Instinctive, get in front, get a touch, all it needs.

Well, that should shock and amaze PL defenders every time - they'll never have see anything like it and will be absolutely bamboozled every time.

On the other hand, if wide players in an advanced position just pinged in a cross (low or high, couldn't care less which) before the defence got their ten men in the box organised (instead of stopping, turnng round and passing it backwards or sideways or across to the other wing), that would be welcome!

If by ‘feeds off’ you mean ‘launches over the bar’, then yes.
