[Misc] Cremation ashes tattoo

Hi all -
I appreciate this might sound like an odd thing for some to even consider, but has anyone had this done in Sussex?

Bit rude.

I'm not a fan of a tattoo, I don't have any on myself and I don't really fancy them on women, however I do "get" the cremation ashes tattoo.

My father passed away recently and a friend of mine suggested you can get minuscule amounts of ashes made into jewellery, ornaments, tattoos etc.
Not at all made my mind up yet as I’m actually not keen on tattoos personally, but just wondered if this was more of a ‘thing’ than I’d realised.

Sorry to hear that, and I hope my joke was not to crass.

I have numerous tattoos, never actually heard of this before, not sure I would want someone I loved permanently etched into my skin to be honest. Not because of any moral standpoint, more a spooky one "I am not sure if I want my loved one being part of me, and watching my every move". An ornament that projects light would be a thing that I would think of now you mention that.
At night reading a book, and switch on the light, would be a comforting thing.

Both my wife and her sister have jewellery with their mothers ashes, but not tattoos. Each to their own I guess...

Sorry to hear about your dad.

I'd say if you're not keen on tattoos probably best not to get one; I say that as a man with both arms covered.

An ornament would be a nice thing to get I think.

Always difficult, but my advice in these things is take your time in making decisions and don't do anything irreversible.

I've known people who have had all their loved ones ashes scattered somewhere and then regretted they didn't have a cremation plot with a stone they could visit and lay flowers. Same thing with a Tattoo, what if you regret?

I've kept a bit of cremation ashes back from parents interments in the local cemetery and put small amount in our back garden under a newly planted rose bush. Just a little but enough to know they are there but we still have a stone to visit and lay flowers on.

We put my mums ashes on the fireplace. I thought she was putting on weight until my brother admitted flicking his fag ash in there.

I think it's a great idea.
Get a small tattoo in a discrete place. (I'll line 'em up).
What's not to like? Step out of your comfort zone, albeit not too far.
Jeez, it'll probably just be a small tattoo, you'll not be removing a limb to show how much someone meant to you.

I wish I'd been able to get this carried out when my Dear old Mum passed away in 87.

My brother had his tattoo sleeve done with Dads ashes mixed in to the ink. They advised not to do it due to being, well a body effectively, but he is a bit weird and did it anyhow. All depends on the tattooist I suppose.

I have seen this happen, minus the charley. A mate down the road had a big house party back when we were teenagers, we walked into the conservatory where a group were sitting sniffing lines. My mate spotted someone holding the big baggie and the box on the table and shouts "oi that's my ****ing dog!", the kid then dropped the baggie in shock spilling half of it on the floor.

Whenever we saw that kid around after that we'd throw a stick and shout fetch!

Put my dad’s ashes in the lake near Tiverton we spent hundreds of hours fishing together when I was a kid…….it was what he wanted. I totally get the tattoo thing though, despite not having any myself (yet)
