Rob Sanchez 8 - made a mistake and not too many saves but superb in the air and good distribution

Shane Duffy 6 - quite a few good blocks but really didnt enjoy playing against their tricky American and Norwich allowing him to be playmaker revealed weaknesses

Lewis Dunk 6 - several good blocks from him as well but a couple of really, really bad passes and also struggled to tracking runs from their forwards

Dan Burn 8 - few astray passes but several very important interceptions.

Joel Veltman 6 - some good actions but on several occasions he made it difficult for Duffy to find the easy pass and put the team in difficult situations.

Adam Lallana 6 - alibi performance really, good vision but didnt find many dirty passes and is too slow to cover the area between defense and midfield.

Pascal Gross 5 - did ok, nothing spectacularly good or bad but part of the not-so-successful Duffy / Veltman / Gross triangle on the right side.

Jakub Moder 5 - not friends with the ball today and also didnt make him playable as often as he would have needed.

Marc Cucurella 7 - close to 8, didnt create much but won the ball several times and applied good pressure, helping his somewhat slow comrades on the midfield.

Leandro Trossard 7 - thought he was brilliant in first half but disappeared in the second.

Neal Maupay 5 - not a good day at work. Missed a very good chance and uncharacteristically struggled a lot in his linkup-play.

Tariq Lamptey 5 - appeared to have fun out there for about three minutes until he realised he needed to be Shane Duffys babysitter... a job he didnt do particularly well. Good to see him though and much needed 30 minutes.

Solly March 6 - did ok.

If that ginger **** had slotted into the open goal he had you’d be getting slaughtered for giving Sanchez an 8. He didn’t have too much else to do that was difficult so nowhere near top score today. Burn for me - saved our ass twice with Dunk a close second.

Not sure how you can give Sanchez an 8 let alone anyone in the team today. Burn MoM everyone else 5’s and 6’s well below par performance today. The midfield was so one paced and lacked any spark. We move on. But not one that will live long in the memory. Norwich fans were a good bunch and a good day out.

Collecting all crosses and corners and set pieces like Sanchez did today might look easy when you have a keeper doing it but its really not something you cshould take for granted

that is the basic job for a keeper, worthy of an average 6. the mistake was cringing, if you come out you have to make contact with the ball, and anyone nearby if necessary.

So far this season Sanchez has claimed 24 high crosses. The next two highest totals are McCarthy with 15 and Meslier with 10.

I agree it was a rubbish mistake and we could have been punished, but to try and write off just how good he is in the air as "just him doing his job" is doing him a massive disservice. It would be like writing off how good Duffy is in the air as just because of an unrelated mistake.

Sanchez 6

Duffy 5
Dunk6
Burn 7

Veltman 5
Lallana 4
Moder 4
Gross 3
Cucurella 6

Trossard 6
Maupay 5.

Watched it on stream. It was a very sloppy performance, we completely lost control in the midfield. It was a very tough watch indeed.

I'm not gonna base my rating on one single event. He misjudged a duel... if that lowers the grade than pretty much any outfield player gets 0/10 every game.

Also there is no such thing as a "basic job" on Premier League level. It takes great determination, balance, strength, handling, timing and understanding of the game to be able to collect all those balls.

2 very poor sides. No ball winner in midfield and no midfielder making runs to get close to Maupay/Trossard. Shame when Burn plays nearly all goal clearances at him to nod on.
Sanchez 6 I know was a clean sheet but that mistake was bad.
Duffy 6 I know gets rave reviews but in a back 3 looks very poor when out wide
Dunk 6 Not at best
Burn 5 Great block near end but looks very vulnerable defending out wide.
Veltman 6 ok but had to play more as a FB
Currrella 5 Strange Bit of sympathy for Burn because seemed to play as a winger which left Burn a bit too exposed
Moder 5 I have had sympathy before when selected out wide but here was his chance and he failed.
Gross 5 Didnt contribute much
Trossard 7 Agree he faded but more because as a team we got worse as game went on. our only danger
Maupay 5 Very little support from midfield or out wide
