[Albion] How are games categorised and is it published for this season

Someone I know was looking to buy tickets for the Albion ( they are neither member or season ticket holder ) and wanted to know how to do it. As a STH, I have not bought a home league game ticket other than via friends and family . Looking at the 3 home games coming up , different purchase rules seem to apply Newcastle it seems anyone can buy up to 4 tickets but Leeds and Man City are restricted to purchase history and only 2 tickets. They Cat B and CAT A respectively while Newcastle is CAT C .. I assume there is some logic behind the categories (popularity & number of away fans) , will there be other CAT C games and do these always allow 4 tickets . Thanks in anticipation of some great answers.

Don’t know for sure but imagine it’s simply down to likely demand :
Cat A - attractive sellout game v big club or Leeds, full away allocation, higher prices
Cat B - mid table side, close to full away allocation, unlikely to sell out, middle priced
Cat C - Burnley, buy as many as you want because we can’t shift them

Cat A*: Liverpool, Manchester Utd
Cat A: Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Spurs
Cat B: Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Everton, Leeds Utd, Leicester City, Newcastle Utd, West Ham Utd
Cat C: Brentford, Burnley, Norwich City, Southampton, Watford, Wolves

EDIT: Maybe Newcastle got moved to a C category because of the kick-off time being changed? Who knows.

Not forgetting that Sheffield Wednesday are category M, should a return fixture every arise, which is inevitable obviously

thanks - was trying to find a definition look like it is hidden under hospitality. True but we haven't sold out any games yet have we so why aren't they all for general release and buy what you can or maybe they were.....

didnt it used to be due to the hostility , cat A was always local derbys and games where risk of problems.

Not surprised to now see it is purely money
