seems worthy of its own thread

we have conceded 5 goals in 7 games

only lower numbers are Chelsea and Man City on 3 each

pretty impressive whilst all plaudits are mainly re our improved attacking play re converting chances

and without Webster and Lamptey for most of these games too

And our primary defensive midfielder for the last couple.

And this is no fluke. It's a continuation of last season. And it's done, not through last ditch, heart on sleeve defending, (well ok there's been a bit of that inevitably) but by winning the midfield battle and sussing out teams tactically

Defence starts with Maupay. Him, Welbeck, Trossard and so on should also get credit for it. Its a lot easier to be a defender when your attackers and midfielders make sure the opponents rarely have enough time and space to do something constructive with the ball.
