Oh sh*te! Saw him a few months before Rainmaker (his first album) came out, at a folk club in Liverpool - sitting about six feet away from him! Breath-taking guitar playing, inspirational. So sorry that he's gone. Will pick up a guitar later and play a few chords in tribute to the man.

I passed up the chance to see him a couple of years ago because “he was always playing somewhere” - should have gone then !
