The Premier League have confirmed that this Saturday’s opening game of the season against Brighton will be refereed by David Coote whose last Burnley game was the 2-0 win against Fulham in May. Fourth official will be Martin Atkinson while Jarred Gillett will be on VAR duty.

I have the following categories for refs by now.

1) Just ****ing useless
2) Useless and biased against BHA
3) Biased against BHA but curiously well regarded
4) Blind
5) OK

As far as I remember Coote is in category 1 but I am happy to be corrected.

I have absolutely no idea how (and for that matter why) the rest of you lot not only know these refs, but the specific way in which they've wronged the Albion.

I still have a contract out on Kelvin Morton and have never fully recovered from Hoops' performance against Bournemouth.

Talking of Morton, there was a BBC report about his son who is a non-league manager who came out as gay. Apparently his dad was initially none too pleased!!
