The case was handed to The European Court of Justice, so is this ruling by a Madrid court the final word on the matter?
They are desperate. They have 'managed' their clubs to financial ruin and have to come up with desperate solutions to solve the problem (spending less never enters their heads).

It probably just isn't in their psyche to 'cut back'. Messi's contract (I think) ends or ended this summer. So just stop paying him! It's that simple. Let other teams scrabble over how much to pay him for a season or two. He's stil a good player - but he ain't going to get any better. But he and hs agent are so addicted to ridiculous sums of money thhat his wage demands will faer exceed what is a reasonable amount o and sadly some bunch of numpties will pay whetever stuid ball-park figure he thinks he shoukd have. Why won’t they even try a season of cutting back and having a financial reset.
Eg, Barca. They should have let Messi go, unless things have changed drastically they have talent coming through their B team. Get all high earners off the books and promote from within.
All these are still incredible, iconic brands. With a reset I’m sure they could be profitable again.
Real Madrid must’ve run out of properties to ‘sell’ at 10x the market rate to Real Madrid supporting banks.
