Here's my thought for the day.
Filled up my van today at the BP station on the Lewes Rd Gyratory (Brighton). Not for the first time the pump stopped well before the tank was full, and here is my reasoning why. In store they have special 'promotions' whereby you buy two items and get 5p off per litre. My van (Renault Traffic) has a large tank and if I fill it up it costs around £100 but today it stopped at £73 and 3/4 full. Quick sums whilst in the shop and it shows that the two items needed to buy to get 5p off a litre cost £2.95
Or put another way, the pump turns off as soon as you've exceeded a possible discount of more than £2.95
I questioned the guy serving who gave me the old sly nod and a wink.
Anyone else had the same problem filling up at a BP station and not getting a full tank as the pump just stops?

I fill up at BP regularly and never had the same problem.
