We can't have too many. At one point this season we were down to bare bones with only five centre halves available. I swear we almost had to play a proper full back.

Not sure a £10m signing is a guaranteed starter for us anymore.

We were fortunate that we didn't lose any of our 3 starters for a significant period, no guarantee that'll happen next season.

Bizarrely, I can see why we might want one more UNLESS one of the young guns is seen as ready. We consistently play 3 at the back now, and we have 5 CBs, of whom one is arguably more a RB. If we aren’t signing another RB then you could say we have 4, and probably need 5.

Succession planning to consider as well. Buying a CD might not mean White is going this summer it might mean he's going next and we want to bed down his replacement early?
