From Brighton and the surrounding area, on Channel 4 now. Repeated at 2100 on Channel 4+1 if you have it. A couple have just been looking at a flat in Fiveways, overlooking the two Hollingdean towers. I think it might be a repeat, but I've only just turned it on.

I see it's also partly from East London, so there may not be much about Brighton.

I’m pretty sure that house the couple ended up in wasn’t Fiveways?

Looked more like one of the roads down by London road station.

Agree my guess is Yardley Street off Ditchling Rise. More Preston Circus than Fiveways.

I think an estate agent would have a go at labeling that area as Fiveways

Fiveways Village.

Blimey, according to that some of Moulsecoomb is in Fiveways. Utter b*ll*cks.

They have got half of Brighton on their map. :)

Please tell me they didn't procreate...

Fun fact, Kirsty and Dominic Cummings used to be an 'item'.

It would have made for an interesting discussion at home. She is a lockdown sceptic, whereas he allegedly tried to urge Boris to go for a faster, stricter lockdown.

It's the village thing that makes me laugh. Patcham is a village, at least the bit by the church and down to Old London Road is, Rottingdean is a village, and Hove was a village to the west of Brighton before Wilds and Busby developed Brunswick Town, which marked the start of Brighton and Hove merging together, but Fiveways? It's a collection of roads coming together at a junction with some half-decent shops around it. They might as well describe anywhere in Brighton as a village. Mind you, they've been doing that in London for years.

Sussex, by the sea
I thought London-by-the-sea was generally a derogatory phrase not one that's supposed to attract people? Maybe I've misunderstood all these years.

Well Portslade is 'West Hove'

Brighton Go karts is in Lancing . . .anything goes for an estate agent.

I quite liked living in the Fiveways kinda area (we were Hollingdean really by the Dip) but there are better areas to live in Brighton.

Negatives

-The hills are a ****ing nightmare
-mediocre on the pub front
-not that many actual useful shops (no hardware shop for example)

Positives
-the shops that are there are good (great bakers, butchers etc)
-decent parking (at least in the Hollingdean bit, think its quite shit on the other side)
-good schools (which is why half of London move there)
-close to the city centre AND close to the countryside
-couple of decent parks and not far from Preston Park
