& my reason for writing:-

New series of Fargo.

Loved the first.
Stuck with the second.
Didn't bother with the third.

but thought I'd give Series 4 a go last night and actually enjoyed it.
Will certainly stay with it for the time being, at least.

Agreed. I have to really, really, really want to watch something to bother with All4.

Don't they run an advert free subscription service.

They're probably just trying to grind us down!

As me and my partner are watching ER from the start I've succumbed to paying the £3.99 a month for the advert free service as I realised I was sitting through about 10-15 minutes of advert per episode.

All4 also has The Shield and Justified and on a slightly weird angle Joe Pera Talks about. A high school music teacher quietly explains life in 10 minute bursts. You'll either love it or be completely mystified who on earth would watch it

Halfway through Fargo and actually rather enjoying it.
Some good subplots coming together nicely with a bit of 'too clever by half' editing tricks.

Chris Rock is playing his character well.
I was surprised to see Ben Wishall (sp).

Doctor Senator is obviously the stand out performance, closely followed by cra-cra nurse!

There is but the good thing is that if you pause at the beginning of the adverts it tells you how long they will be. Then you know if you have time to make a cup of tea, have a quick dump, get a beer or fill up a bowl of crisps.

A right old mixing pot here.

3 world weary cops with baggage from 3 cities (Warsaw, Odessa & Prague) get together over linked moiders. Add the common ground English and a bit set in Germany and you end up with five tongues being used for your multilingualtastic delight.

The array of names and geography does become a tad complex at times but all in all it's pretty good. 10 episodes.

Its working.


On the recommendation front, "Flowers" is excellent. It's probably an acquired taste, I can see it being one people either love or hate. But if you like things that are a bit off beat then this is really brilliant.

On the pus side talking about the adverts on all4, its also on Netflix, so you could watch it there without the adverts.
