Quite poignant. Assuming this may be his last top level game.

He deserves a big roaring send off, not an empty ground. Hopefully he will eventually get a testimonial with us.

Shouldnt he get a testimonial game with Brighton? I mean he played a gigantic part in the success in the last decade and you guys never had a chance to say goodbye.

Either way, seems he really loves the game so I hope he continues in League One or something.

What a career he's had though , so clever on and off the ball , to me he was a model professional, even when he scored v us and scored v Palace he remained respectful to the situation.

He looks to be carving himself a new career on Sky Sports as a commentary pundit so he's probably going to be ok for a few Bob.

I doubt he will drop down lower than the championship to play so yes that looked like a long last look at his bread and butter .

Well played Glen .

Not sure players these days who have played at the level of Glenn need a testimonial any more. After the years he spent in the Prem, he should already be made for life.

True. We could give him a job though. There was a little glimpse of his thought process when analysing one of Welbeck's runs at half time on Sunday. Imparting that nous about how to find space where there isn't any to our young strikers could be invaluable.

As part of this year’s 10 year anniversary at the stadium celebrations, we should have a ‘Amex Legends’ match.

He’d be first on the team sheet and would get a unbelievable reception when subbed off.

I wonder if Vicente would make an appearance.

Indeed, but the trend now is to give all the proceeds to worthy causes. For that reason I think he should get one at the start of the new campaign. Maybe combine it with the 10 year thing.

That's really poignant. Must be a very strange feeling for a footballer to retire. Imagine never getting that buzz again. Hope we can give him a proper send off at some point.

Neither did Dennis Bergkamp, Roy Keane, Alan Shearer, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and so on either... yet they got them. But the money goes to some charity, like "Tired Swedish men with too many pizza boxes".

That wasnt goodbye to Forest or any particular team, that was plain for all to see that was goodbye to playing. I would have liked to have been inside Glens head as he walked to the centre ciircle. He was gazing at the arena, the terraces, the seats, well yes the supporters and the noise. Not a sad day for him really just a thankful goodbye to the sport who payed him well & what he loved playing. I wonder what memories were at the forefront of his mind at that time. He probably wouuld not tell anyone just so he did not offend any of the supporters who were not part of that memory. True professional 'our' Glen and he was pretty good at football too.:clap2:

I’ve emailed Paul Barber. Glenn should get some sort of recognition in the Amex 10 years celebrations.

Vital, vital player for us.

Also, not to appear a club licker but a genuine question; how many other Prem clubs have a Chief Executive you can email who responds near immediately?!

Isn’t it 10 years service that automatically qualifies. I think there are exceptional circumstances, such as Bruno, but that was still more of a friendly.

Could we get away with a FRIENDLY Albion X1 Palace X1 Legends pre season game? Glenn plays 1st half for Palace, 2nd half for the Albion

A specialist goal-grabbing expert to coach our non-goal grabbing forwards on how to actually grab goals sounds like a great idea. Well we are a forward looking club so it may well happen. :albion2:
