You are talking about a club who is about to enter its 5th season in the Premier League, without EVER having had to fight its way out of the bottom 3. Not one single weekend.

Its not always been pretty, and at times we have been shithouse. But we've always been good enough to keep the dregs at arms length. Be as sad as you want, but thems are FACTS. And I for one am celebrating what is now officially the greatest era in the 120 year history of BHAFC tonight.

Well put Easy. Its easy to forget we did fail against some of the team's below us but we really will finish at a Cantor. Over the whole season the teams who got relegated were in those positions for most of the season and we were only put to the sword once or twice. The goals against column is testament to that. Lets celebrate the fact we go again.:clap2:

You are of course correct. Planning for next season can start now as we know, 100%, which division we will be in. Job done, everyone relax ...... which is precisely why I'm a bit 'meh' about it this morning. Fulham were never realistically going to catch us and a Burnley win makes it that bit harder for us to overtake them and get more money for finishing higher up the table. So that's all we've got to play for now: can we get another place or two higher and earn a bit more money? Not quite the same pressure as 'can we survive'? And yes I know I'm sounding a bit ungrateful and even a tad stupid; safety as early as possible is always the aim for 'teams like Brighton'.

EDIT: Just to add there's also the feeling that we haven't really earned it, we haven't stayed up by our own efforts (which would have been the case if we'd won at Wolves), but we couldn't do it so Burnley had to save our arses for us. Obviously that's also 'wrong', but is contributing to my 'meh' feeling.

Of all the clubs outside the top six Burnley and Dyche will nearly always chisel out a win when they need to, Palace aren’t far behind them though. It’s annoying, but not last night it wasn’t :smile:

Yup, always bottling survival... 15 years since the last relegation, cant be much more than ten clubs in England who could say that.

There will always be some salty anti Burnley comments, have to say given the lack of backing Dyche has been given he's done a phenomenal job.

Ideally I would have preferred a win at Wolves and Fulham beating Burnley, Newcastle, Southampton however we have stayed up being 10 points clear of relegation with a superior goal difference with 3 games to go. We have stayed up on merit and belong here

I didn’t notice that all your players were English, that’s quite an achievement. I did notice however that you also have two centre backs better than Mings & Dier; there was a brilliant withdrawal by Tarkowski as he pulled back from contact with the diving Lookman.
Not a chance that Southgate will give them a second look though.

As the Sky commentator said, Burnley are specialists in the box, either scoring or blocking shots. You’ll remain in the top level all the time you excel at those things.

Both things are true though, aren’t they? Let’s give GP and the team credit for still being in the best league in the world next season and, yes, the longest top flight streak in our history. That’s great :clap2:

At the same time it’s been the biggest paradox of the season that we’ve been great against the “good” teams but woeful against some very poor ones. Look at that bottom three. Awful points and all down with three games to go, and we’ve beaten none of them in 6 games.

Next season we have to create even better chances against the parked bus and finish them.

Watford and Norwich will also be much better than the teams they are replacing, although both may suit our game more.

It’s a funny old game, Saint.

Well, that’s a positive outlook. But hey, never mind, think on this to cheer you up :

We’ve never been in the bottom three in four seasons in the Premier League.

We will be in the top tier division again for a club record of five consecutive seasons.

We took four points off the Premier League Champions.

We drew with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and got a point, for the first time ever.

We still have three games to go to potentially beat our best points tally.

Oh, there are dozens of other points to be optimistic about our team’s future fortunes but I really can’t be arsed to go into them. In the meantime I will enjoy the positive aspects of our club - something that I feel you won’t be doing.
