Found myself driving through Saltdean last week . Was surprised at how much green space there was and also surprised that more developers haven’t built more new builds in that area as there seems to be lots of room certainly compared to Brighton and hove .

I was surprised I didn’t see hardly anyone out and about walking , I think I saw one couple so it did have the feeling a bit of a ghost town .

Yep that was relevant, NOT!

Not personally, but I know people who have.

You need to stick to the kind of grounds that planners will listen to, even if they seem a bit technical. So, loss of natural light, for example. Too many traffic movements. And so on. Google some tips and load your appeal with loads of this kind of stuff.

Otherwise you end up with your appeal seen as being based on personal preference etc, and no matter how heartfelt or well-expressed it is, it won’t really cut the mustard.

Get lots of people to object but make sure the objections are based on one or more of the legitimate reasons. The list is available online.
Badger your local MP and ward councillors and get them on your side.
Employ a planning specialist!
