It's 1971 and to sum up, British Rail charge householders 1 shilling (5p) per year for their sun light. As the house windows face over BR land they are charged for all sunlight going in to the house. The law states that if someone has 20 years uninterrupted views then land can not be built on obstructing that view, or light. By charging 5p BR keep the right to build on their land. I wonder if that law still exists?

Quick check on Google Earth shows the land is now a Sainsburys and the houses all overlook a car park.
