was just reading through the countless people saying they dont have one or they'd tried one and didnt like it etc .....

obviously each to their own, but it got me thinking of all the things I use it for and they are ridiculously amazing value when you think about all the things they do for us;

phone
messaging system
clock
alarm
camera
camcorder
credit card
entertainment (youtube tiktok and others ;-)
encyclopedia
calculator
weather checker
boarding passes
and now season ticket :)

I'm sure theres loads more, but crikey I'd be buggered without it now

My smartphone adventure started with an IPhone 3. That became a 4 then 5, but it was the "updates" that often screwed my I phone so its been Samsung all the way since. Does everything listed above but updates just improve the phone not upset it. Sorry Apple.

I wasnt intending to turn it into an apple/android battle and never said apple are better, it was aimed at those who say they have no need for a smart phone or dont want one

oh and heres a few more uses Ive thought of;

walkman/music player
kindle reading app
spirit level
torch

Amazing to think we used to have seperate devices/piece of equipment for all of these things and now they are all contained in one item (generally in better quality) and all in one tiny package

I selected my smartphone of choice simply upon the spirit level quality alone.

The sprit level is about as accurate as a Friday night drunk trying to pee into the bowl!

Clock, nope.
Games, nope
Films/TV, nope

A lot of it is very useful though.

You should of course include the calendar as you can upload the albion fixtures which update automatically when tv decides to change them! You can also use the albion app to buy tickets.
