Met his agent on a funeral at the Woodvale Crematorium, reckons he's the answer to our long term problems.

I did reply that's what Barry Fry told us about CMS :)

Are we a touch snobby when it comes to player recruitment? We’d all like a £30m Darwin Nunez but the reality is that it’s not happening anytime soon. Jamie Vardy was still at Fleetwood Town aged 25, nothing to say this lad could do a job, he’s got far more first team experience than Connolly and Zeqiri, if we’re looking for a physical focal point there’s no harm in looking?
Of course it is possible that an agent is drumming up interest to line their own pocket.

Exactly

Who was that guy we signed from non-league Burton Albion?

The problem is that in a side coached by Graham Potter, we are NOT looking for a physical focal point, GP likes his strikers to be nippy and nimble.

Jordan Clarke-Harris sounds like the result of a Top Gear love triangle.

If we were going to sign a striker from the lower leagues then my money would be on Lucas Joao at Reading.

18 goals and 6 assists in 29 appearances this season. Big, Strong & Good Feet. Exactly what we need

Thought he looked a real handful when we played Cov in the cup

Indeed. I can remember coming across him on more than one occasion during his Rotherham days when we faced them in The Championship too.

He has been playing league football for over ten years now, for a number of different clubs, so it has taken him a while to come to the fore.

Unfortunately Lucas Joao has three attributes that Graham Potter is not looking for in a striker, big, strong, and good goalscorer. :nono:

So Potter didn't play Ollie McBurney all of his last season with Swansea then? Lucas Joao is shite and nowhere near PL standard he's in the form of his life right now but 26 goals in 112 games for Massive says he ain't all that. Plus if you've actually watched him he has the mobility of a north sea oil rig...
