To use the player card example, one could argue that the physical trading player card has no point.....after all aren’t they just pieces of card yet some are worth thousands.

'Non-fungible tokens' IMHO are a bit like xG. No bearing on real life and easily ignored like you never even heard of them

certainly direct comparison. im cynical because people are creating the NFTs with the purpose of being valuable rather than becoming collectable organically. people are buying them, for bonkers money, because they think they'll be worth bonkers x10 next month.

a good example of silliness, apparently Jack Dorsey is selling an NFT of the first tweet. thats something you can read and see online already, making an NFT adds nothing.
