Ernie "Tug" Wilson ( outside left and an ex coal miner ) has the record for the most appearances for Brighton- 566 - between 1922 -1936 . He missed just 29 games in 12 seasons .

Lewis Dunk has recorded 306 appearances from 2010 until now - he hasn't missed many games either .

So Dunk needs 261 appearances to better " Tug " .

Can he do it ?

40 games a season for the next 6 and a half seasons. Lewis is 29 now, so it's not inconceivable, but would need a fair wind with injuries/suspensions/form.

If he got to 500 in the modern era then that would be fantastic

Dunk got 334 appearances in all competitions. Reaching 566 he would probably need either the team to get relegated to Championship (46 league games instead of 38) or for Brighton to play in Europe two or more seasons.. plus stay fit and remain first choice for another five years or so.

Good thread, blokes a lad. It's not out of this reach, but stay fit and constantly play and it'll be close, plus staying with us of course. Genuinely can see him being a one club player. I think his heart is here, he invests in a bloody nice pad in Hurst, is close with family here and looks very settled on a healthy pay check playing in the Premier League, I think he's pretty f*cking sorted. lol Not going anywhere. Plus he has the full backing of the club with a pretty much guaranteed pay rise every couple of seasons when the interest hots up.
