“Former England boss Glenn Hoddle says Graham Potter has done a brilliant job and says the quality of football Brighton show is worthy of a top-six side.”

Always liked Glenn...

The former Chelsea and Spurs midfielder heaped praise on the Albion boss and said the Seagulls have not picked up the points they have deserved this season, reports Tribal Football.

He also backed Brighton captain Lewis Dunk to get an England call-up as he has been at the forefront of the club's revival in recent weeks.

Hoddle said on his podcast, 'The Glenn Hoddle Footy Show': "He (Potter) has done a brilliant job, I really must say.
"They must be the most unfortunate team in terms of deserving to win games. They have created so many chances, more than most teams in the league.

"They're a very, very well drilled football team, with the ball and without the ball. They're such a good team, with good individuals playing good football."

He continued: "He [Dunk] could be pushing for an international place at some stage. He's a really good footballer, but also a good defender as well."
Hoddle, a BT Sport and ITV Sport pundit, says other managers around the world would be mightily impressed by the football Brighton play.
He thinks they have a realistic chance of achieving a mid-table finish, too.
"They're a really good team that plays through the midfield. They create chances. They certainly shouldn't be in any trouble going down," he said.

“The football they're playing well and truly deserves to have them in the top half of the division. They're a side that proves to anyone outside this country that the Premier League is the toughest league in the world.
"Other managers around the world would look at Brighton and say 'Wow, they're a top team, they must be in the top six or seven'. And you'd say 'No, they're fighting for their lives'.
"I think Potter has done a fantastic job, he really has. If they get into an easier position as well, there's probably more to come from Brighton. If they can get into mid-table, I think we can see them play even better."

Hoddle also praised the acquisition of young South American players such as Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister, while developing academy product Steven Alzate for the Colombian national team.
He added: "They're more than decent players, they're good players. They've hit the road running and they feel comfortable in the system that Potter has given them.

Despite summer signing Adam Lallana suffering a recurring groin injury this term that has kept him out of multiple games, Hoddle believes he will be a good signing.
"He's always been a good player. I've always liked Lallana. He's someone who needs a run without getting injured because it knocks you back," he said.
"There's even more to come from Lallana."
