[Albion] Striker / Forwards Coach ?

Again after last nights lackluster display upfront by are strikers I was wondering is it worth Potter bring in a striker/forward coach? I beleive we have talent in that department and maybe they just need a wise ex pro to help them out as it is clear to see it isn't one of Potters or any of his staffs strong points in coaching.
I have read alot about bring Glen Murray back in a coaching role, I think most fans would like to see that and I think he could have alot to offer in that department. What about a Teddy Sheringham, Kevin Phillips ?
I'm up for sticking with Potter, the back 3 of White, Dunk and webster look solid and Veltman has been a steal with some top performances, when it clicks for us (hopefully soon) all this will be forgotten.

Whats your thoughts?

In a podcast interview Zamora said he’d love to do this at the Albion on a part-time basis.
I’m scratching my head as to why this hasn’t happened.

Would rather that the club's resident sports psychologist tried to work with them to try and be more relaxed in front of goal and not continually just snatch at chances

Most fans might indeed think he'd have a lot to offer, but most fans have literally no idea whether any of those would make good coaches. Just because you're good at something doesn't mean you can teach others. I'd hazard a guess there's someone on the coaching staff already that specializes in strikers - that's maybe the person that should be getting the tin tack.........pretty sure Potter, Ashworth et al are aware of our shortcomings and trying to do something about it.

I guess it's difficult in times of covid but surely usually it's pretty easy to get someone in for a day a week. A bit like the England cricket team seems to do with their batting coaches.
Different perspectives, different methods, inspiration. It can't hurt can it?

Is this really the answer, or is it just a bit of a 'Football Manager' type thing? And don't forget, doing this woukd be some kind of admission that something is wrong, and i genuinely feel that Potter thinks everything is okay.

You'd think given our facilities and infrastructure etc someone at the club might have thought of this already?? It's not a Sunday League set up.

Do any of these have any experience from coaching?

Just because you've gone to school doesnt mean you are a good teacher.

If they are going to bring in a specialist striker coach, I would prefer a specialist coach over a specialist striker.

Not sure it would be the magical solution people think it would be. It wouldnt surprise me if Connolly, Maupay and Zeqiri (not sure about Trossard as he is not a natural striker) are banging them in left right and centre in training but that they are not equally confident in games because of how things have gone this season.

I'm willing to bet a fiver that all of the woodwork hits from Trossard against United are chasing him daily (and nightly..?). Perhaps a sports psychologist would be the magic solution, but feck knows. At this point it would probably require a sports lobotomist. Or just a bit of fluke killing off those feelings of "feck me I just cant score!".

I think this is absolutely right. Whoever is coaching our forwards is not teaching them how to score goals.

How about recruiting a 25 stone bloke to stand in the middle of the goal and they all practice getting the ball past him rather than passing to him?

Also fines for shots over the bar.
£1000 for each metre over.
That should do it?

some of them are only on £20k a week!

In the minds of some it works like this:You cant score goals. You invite someone who scored a lot of goals. They show you how to score a goal. You now score goals.

Too bad football is more complicated in reality than in infantile theory.
