[Help] Car battery charger advice

The battery on the car is flat - lack of use more than anything.

So I bought one of the Halfords battery chargers for about 50 quid.

I want to charge the battery while the battery is in the car, but the battery charger
showed no LEDs or life on it to suggest it is working when I connected the red and black
clips.

Nowhere in the instructions does it say that you have to charge the charger first.
Would I need to stick the battery charger in the mains for a while TO charge it up before
I could try again on the car? (Seems like an obvious thing.)

Any advice welcome. Thanks very much...

Best hope the battery is not fubbared, it’s that time of year.

I have been there, buy a battery charger....and then have to buy a battery too!

Once it’s charged go to Halfords and ask them to do a battery check

You need to remember that driving your car to ensure that the battery remains charged is an essential journey given that's its clearly vehicle maintenance so recharge the battery and get driving daily.

Problem solved. I'm being silly by not reading the instns. Ignore me :)

Women accuse men of not reading instructions ... yet give a woman something like this WITH instructions and they will claim it's too difficult / they are too clumsy / it's a man's job / any another sodding excuse to avoid doing the job

I'm suprised modern cars don't monitor and advise battery condition. I suppose that could potentially harm a lucrative industry.

most after market batteries are crap. I fitted sealed gel batteries to my classics. really good, small and light by comparisson as well. Basically what we use in the race cars, but if you look for mobility scooter/golf buggy ones theyre half the price for the same thing!

Bit embarrassing. Best let the thread sink down the board

He's not getting away this that lightly :lolol:

You need to get a battery charger charger.

If that doesn't work you'll need to get a battery charger charge charger.

If that doesn't work, buy a new car.
