Out on our cycle along the seafront this morning a mate and I were waxing lyrical and getting all nostalgic.

Perhaps a question for the younger NSCers, are titles such as Mayfair, Knave and Club International still on sale at the likes of WH Smith’s or your local newsagent?

When living in Manchester in the mid 1980’s I recall the dungaree and Doc Martens brigade marched into Smiths in the city centre, emptied the top shelf and dumped them on the counter, to which one northern male wag quipped “If you girls took a bit more pride in yourselves you might get asked to take your clothes off” 🙈
Thankfully he got out of the shop alive and in one piece.

Recall many years ago when working in a factory one of the chaps bringing in a Fiesta mag featuring the hottest office girl in the readers wife's section .

Local newsagent had sold out by lunchtime

I believe they are a place above us, though if they keep losing to teams like Sheffield Utd, who knows?

One of the first mags my older brother got his hands on aged about 14 or so I guess and the first model in there was my auntie.

It was one of the lower budget ones......... it would have had to have been.

And the 64 thousand dollar question is ?

Was she actually somebody's wife or was she in there under false pretences?

Was it let known to her that her spread had been discovered and if so what was her response?

Brighton factually.....
My younger brother found my dads stash of porn mags and took one into school, a teacher spotted him with his mates ogling the ladies mag and took it off him. Later that evening while we were having diner a knock on the door and the same school teacher was standing there and showed the mag to my dad and was about to start talking, my dad snatched it off him, and said that’s bloody mine, then slammed the door on him, came back to the diner table, placed it on the table, and finished his dinner and never said a word about it. It was just laying there next to his plate, we all expected a lecture, nothing, I think he even flicked through while chasing his peas around the plate.

I had a mate at school whose girlfriend was a jazzmag model. They had some great holidays on the back of her earnings.

Then along came the internet and a certain website, so now those mag pics are around for all-time. Gashback!
