Been having a go through my old floppy disks and found our work Fantasy Football spreadsheet from either 1995/96. Fascinating glimpse into football at the time in general and the plight of the Albion in particular. My team name was Gone to the Dogs and my boss went for NevermovetoPompey FC. Looks like the Goldstone going was focussing our minds already.
Strangely, you could pick Scottish players as well. Having to look at the spreadsheet in Notepad at the moment but I think my team was
Andy Goram (Rangers)
Ruud Gullit (Chelsea)
Gary Ablett (Everton)
Phillipe Albert (Newcastle)
Steve Staunton (Villa)
Alan Thompson (Bolton)
David Platt (Arsenal)
Andy Townsend (Villa)
Les Ferdinand (Newcastle)
Matt Le Tissier (Saints)
Savo Milošević (Villa)
Had Johnston from Falkirk as a sub striker.
Looks like that team was good enough for 2nd in the league.
