MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

  • [*=left]Leeds United have lost seven of their past nine league matches against Brighton. However, they did win the most recent league fixture, in the Championship in March 2017.
[*=left]This is the first top-flight meeting since Leeds won at Elland Road in May 1982. Leeds have never lost at home against Brighton in the top flight, winning two games and drawing one.
Leeds

  • [*=left]Leeds opened 2021 with 3-0 defeats to Tottenham and Crawley Town. They have not lost their first three matches of a calendar year since 2014.
[*=left]A third successive defeat would equal their longest run of losses under head coach Marcelo Bielsa.
[*=left]However, Leeds could win three consecutive Premier League home games for the first time since 2001 under David O'Leary.
[*=left]An eighth win of the season would equal Leeds' total number of victories from their last top-flight season in 2003-04.
[*=left]They have conceded 33 goals in 17 league games this season - just two fewer than in 46 Championship fixtures last season.
[*=left]There have been a league-high 63 goals scored in Premier League matches involving Leeds this season.
[*=left]A seventh Premier League clean sheet for Illan Meslier would equal the record in a season for a goalkeeper before his 21st birthday, set by Joe Hart in 2007-08.
[*=left]Patrick Bamford has scored in successive Premier League home games after going the opening six matches without a goal.
Albion

  • [*=left]Brighton are winless in nine Premier League games, the longest current run in the division (D5, L4). The club's top-flight record is 10 matches without a victory.
[*=left]Their past four league wins have all come in away matches, most recently at Aston Villa on 21 November.
[*=left]The Seagulls have 14 points after 18 games. They had at least 20 points after 19 fixtures in their three previous Premier League campaigns.
[*=left]Albion are averaging 12.3 shots per game, their best return in the Premier League. However, just 28% have been on target, their lowest Premier League ratio.
[*=left]Neal Maupay has scored in three of his four league appearances against Leeds, all for Brentford in the Championship.

3pm Saturday kick off and it’s live on Sky. Great.

Btw what’s happened to the ‘most famous supporter’ threads? With our record of late they were one of the only things worth looking forward to!

Looking forward to the match, especially seeing Percy Tau up against one of the world’s biggest clubs.
Not really looking forward to Sky Sports mentioning Ben White every 5 minutes.

Edit- Brighton and Hove Albion v everyone’s second favourite team........ :wrong:

I am VERY nervous about this game. Win comfortably/get a thrashing. Can’t see a draw

This one really could go either way. Should be a riveting game.

I would much rather be a neutral watching than an Albion fan..before a ball is kicked. Ecstasy or despair coming up I feel

The official match thread is like Father Christmas; you try to stay awake to see it appear, finally fall asleep and then in the morning it’s mysteriously arrived in the dead of night

like i said on another thread, we are a club of two teams. either be 5-0 to us or 5-2 to you lot. but 3pm on a saturday is a treat and a bit of old time normality.

As I said on the "5 Reasons" thread, a genuinely interesting game. If we close them down and expose their back line we could very well hand them a beating. If we let them play their way we'll get murdered. They may struggle to cope with Percy and we, in turn may not select him. Can't call it.
