I'm interested to hear people's choices for this very particular time of the week.

My current fave (and it must be the expanded version).

I've dug out an old favourite.

Bunny Wailer....Blackheart Man.

This for me, the best album imo by the incomparable Dusty Springfield

The deadline has passed now but all these recommendations seem definitely in the Sunday am groove. Will give them all a listen next Sunday mornin'. Maybe the thread will bounce then

Good thread, and good suggestion -- I'll give that a spin.
In answer to your question, ideally something a little bit gentle: anything by Nick Drake, some Dylan, acoustic Elliott Smith, Bill Withers, Al Green, probably some other stuff that I can't think of at present too.

Funnily enough, I had started compiling a 'Sunday Morning' playlist on Deezer a while back. I'd sort of forgotten about it, so it's still in it's infancy. Here it is...

That's as far as it got. I might use this thread to add it if I find anything I fancy.

Seeing Nina Simone on here. I think I might add my favourite track of hers to the playlist. Seems very apt for this time too.

Early Andrea Bocelli, my wife plays this a lot and it has really grown on me, having not been a fan initially. Fantastic and uplifting stuff and great on a sunny Sunday morning

Now, discovering this gem on this album you recommended (of which I'd never heard of) has made my ****ing day!

I wonder if Ben Harper has based his whole career on it? (I don't mean that disrespectfully).

It's a traditional Christian gospel song, but given the Nyabinghi treatment by Bunny Wailer. Culture did a lovely version too.

If Nyabinghi has moved you, check out.... Ras Micahel & The Sons of Negus. Also the original to actually record Rasta Nyabinghi chants....Count Ossie And The Mystic Revelation of Rastafari
