I thought so too. I can’t see 30,000 ID checks being undertaken when we’re back to normal.
It is for those buying through the tier system but if you buy on the ticket exchange it is full price and, I think, all adult tickets.
It is the price of success. Some very disappointing scenarios for families over time, but without these rules many s/t’s would simply move within families and between mates. New fans or the previously only casually interested would get a regular seat at s/t prices from a connection, at the expense of people patiently waiting on the list.
With a capacity of just (soon to be) 32,000 and PL football, one way or another there’ll always be a whole load of dissatisfied punters.

If the named season ticket holder can’t attend then the ticket should be put on ticket exchange, then the person who normally shares can purchase the seat.
If everyone did this then far more tickets would become available.
