The Guardian are reporting that they expect most of England to be placed in tier 2 until Spring.
It's going to be a long winter. Let's hope the Albion can help keep us all cheerful.

Here are the rules in tier 2:

Under the new system, although hospitality venues will be allowed to stay open until 11pm – with last orders at 10pm – only those that serve substantial meals can operate. It means pubs and bars that do not will have to close.

As before, social mixing outside of households or support bubbles will not be allowed indoors. The rule of six will apply outdoors.

Spectators will be allowed to watch sport in tier 2, with a maximum crowd capacity outdoors of 50% of the capacity of the stadium or 2,000 people, whichever is smaller. Indoors, the maximum capacity is 1,000.

Indoor entertainment venues, such as cinemas, casinos and bowling alleys, must also close.

I’m not sure even the govt have firmed up all the tiered areas yet so let’s wait and see . Fingers crossed we might be tier one !

So lockdown ends next weekend, to be replaced by lockdown 3 which is called Tier 2, so Johnson can say he has ended the national lockdown.

Well time to celebrate, oh we can't as the pubs are either closed, or you can only go with your husehold and not meet up with mates, and you must have a large meal.

I think it might be more nuanced and flexible over time than this.

Thanet and Swale districts have 5x the CV19 rate of infections than areas of Kent and Sussex such as Brighton and Worthing.

The scientists and government won’t set in stone any areas restrictions for 5 months ahead.

I do admire your confidence. Mine is ebbing away

Last I saw, Adur is averaging around 82 per 100K of cases, which is amongst the lowest in the country.

Hopefully this means the Cricks in Southwick will be open, which will enable me to get trollied over a hunters chicken, whilst watching us get dry-humped by Southampton.

It's dropped to 78 cases per 100,000 now. If Adur isn't in Tier 1 then nowhere will be. According to the 315 designated areas in England Adur and Worthing were 300 and 302 in the list respectively.

If we did end up in Tier 2 does that mean that I can only go to the pub (for a meal) on my own or with my immediate family only?

Cinemas can be open in the new tier 2. Most probably won't but they can

Only with family that live with you, I understand. Let's hope for Tier 1.

They'll start as many people in Tier Two (and some in Tier Three) as possible so that future changes should feel like improvements rather than further punishment.
The last thing they'll want to is to move communities from Tier One to Tier Two in January or Feb.

In reality the whole country have a very restrictive 4 months ahead. We all need to focus on the daffodils coming up and try and look out for friends and family that struggle to cope.
Once the pre-season county cricket friendlies start we'll have done the hard yards.

At what point can this be judged a cluster**** and added to the list of other errors they've made.

The xmas thing and direct into tier 2 , The fat lady is clearing her throat on this latest incompetence.

I'm still hopeful they will get something right before its over.
