I know this is shite.
I know this is 'I was there'.
I know we've done it a bazillion times before.

But seeing the 'scenes', the 'limbs', the 'Norf Stand',

F**k it, let's just do it all over again

The FA Cup game we won 2-0 at home was live on ITV (I think), I was one of the first on the pitch after the whistle, cam running on from the West Stand.

I am pretty sure Souness was subbed at some point as we were behind the Liverpool dug-out, when he came off we gave him a serious amount of abuse and the intent in his eyes was he would have started a fight had it not been a football ground and he was a player.

I was there for the 2-2 league game in 81.

I seem to remember going 2 up early doors (too early as it turned out).

Anyone recall what time the goals were scored?
Google tells me they were both in 45th minute, but I seem to remember both goals in the first 10 minutes or so.

My best away trip ever that Cup game. Epic day.

I must apologise to LFC though, I was standing on my seat when JB got the second - It broke into several pieces during the carnage!

Oh the crowd going mental I miss that.

Fast forward to 2020 and a goal followed by 10mins VAR review while they try and find a reason to disallow it and a choice of socially distanced crowd where standing up to celebrate will be considered a breach and you'll be thrown out or alternatively you'll need to make do with a recording or someone else celebrating a goal in a different game while you sit on your socially distanced sofa within your bubble on your own. I hate 2020...

For the sake of balance and to prove we can still score more than them.
Thunderbolt from Kaz, gave us brief hope...

Yes great goal.
I watched the game on TV from a bar in Marsascala.

I think we scored 4 that day!

I watched 2 more games there and we lost both so never went to watch a game there again :(

We were definitely robbed in 1991, supposed foul from a corner disallowing a Mike Small header I think. Still one of favourite games to have been at

There's an excellent photo of Mick Robinson's goal in the Coventry programme

And it also states the goal was scored on 2 minutes and 25 seconds

I read also we were 2 nil up after 8 minutes

So presumably Smith's goal was in the 7th or 8th minute

Yep. Wasn't it a little dink of a back header? The pundits all claimed our goal at north stand end was offside. They used fake footage for their big six bias. I think, I bought the video back in the day that showed a better angle and it was clearly onside.

Glad to see my memory was correct (on this occasion)

I remember Gary Howlett scoring in a 2-2 unless there was another 2-2 ,or memory is fading . Was in the North Stand end .

I had that recorded on VHS tape from the TV.
I believe it had a young disabled boy as mascot that day.
I wasn't sure if there was any other footage of that game and I emailed the club offering it to them for free but I never had a response.
In the end it got discarded with a box of videos as I was leaving the country.
Sorry that should have been a quote of the 2-0 win over Liverpool.
