Once this season (Club Brugge - Anderlecht), a couple of times last season. Club Brugge made the choice not to extend the loan despite starting off well and being described as "made for Philippe Clements type of football". Any time - and it happens quite a lot - some South African fan pops up over at Reddit asking their fans about their superstar, people either say he is not very good with a few good moments (Brugge fans) or that he is good enough for current level Anderlecht but that they cant see him going to a bigger league. The stats sites, while never telling the whole story, rates him as average.

Sure, I could be wrong about him as Ive not seen that much but I would be very, very surprised to see him "return" in January. I know that the option is baked into his loan deal though, so if it were to happen there would be no need to pay anything to get him back early.

You responded constructively to b.w.2..

I read somewhere he wasn’t played in his favoured position last season and is playing much better this season being played in his best position ???

Not sure anyone really knows his "best position". The first thing Voetbalkrant (big Belgian football site) did when he was signed was to start a poll about "so.. where do we play him?" From what Ive understood there is still no answer to this - Anderlecht use him in different roles in different games. They seem to be more fond of him - particularly his high work rate - than the Brugge fans were, so he is probably better this year. That said he started last season in a great way as well but only got worse as the season progressed.

Hopefully this time around he can keep it up, and as there is less competition in the Anderlecht squad he should be able to play more than last season.

At bit off topic but speaking of Tau, I read a few weeks ago that he was only the second player to play for the three Belgian teams with most league titles (Anderlecht, Brugge and USG).

Fair enough, so you are making an assessment based on near-zero knowledge. Probably correct tho TBF...

to be fair , the knowledge you can asses is stats

54 games in Belgium ( half in the Belgium second division )
13 goals

If he had those stats at age 18/19 you could argue a case a bit more. At age 26 in his peak. That suggests pretty strongly he wont make the step up as a premier league striker

Striker or forward? Not being pedantic, but I think you will find he is not an out and out striker

Sure you did, you made a dumb assessment based on zero knowledge that swansman was talking out of his arse had hadn't seen him play.

I said zero or near-zero games watched by your hero. Turns out I was right.

What does Wrighty know about putting the ball in the net!? Has he asked the mighty Swansman for his views?

Let me explain.

Ian Wright may know a little more than you about being a forward. Please do let me know if you scored more goals than Ian Wright in the top flight or playing international football?

If so, I stand corrected, and welcome to NSC Gary L?

Thank you [emoji120] for offering but I will keep my spade.

Not that I am digging by pointing out that another poster may not have the scoop on Mr Tau’s ability.
