Neither here nor there
I have a long list of players that I got quite excited about when they first arrived at Brighton but for whatever reason, they didn't exactly go on to become Albion legends.

I'll start with Matt Wicks. I seem to remember him playing brilliantly for us when he first arrived on loan at Withdean. I remember thinking, he's exactly the kind of player we need if we have ambitions as a club.

Any more?

If i had a time machine, I would do two things:

- Go back and give the person who invented Toast a ruddy big hug
- Stop younger Grombleton from being excited about Alex Frutos.

Not a signing as such, but I was convinced for a week or so that we had the best player in the world playing for us after watching Abdul Razak against Ipswich.

Now playing in the second tier in Sweden.

Jack Harper who we poached from Real Madrid, was supposed to be amazing but never even got anywhere near the first team

Seb Carroll for me promised so much but very rarely delivered. Could always beat a player but then for some reason had to do it again.

That was my answer. Tribunal set the fee at 120K, which was a huge fee for a 4th Division player in 1996, so I assumed that he'd be our star player. Don't think he even played once Gritt had been appointed, did he?
