I'm 59 years old and have lived in Sussex all my life.
I've never heard of tonights challenge on Great British Bake Off to cook a Sussex Pond Pudding.

Has anyone heard of it before tonight?

It's delicious, if you like that sort of thing. Relatively easy to make too, surprised these bakers cocked it up, although TBF, I don't think they had that long to steam it.

Looks and sounds grim. Seen it on pub menus but never given it much thought.

Heard of it but never eaten it. Steamed pudding really doesn’t sound very nice. Not my cup of tea at all but I’d give it a go if it was plonked in front of me. Especially by the sadly departed Lottie.

Yes it's very very nice and obviously quite bad for you with all the sugar.

The lemon sort of explodes and you get an amazing lemon sauce.

Looks gorgeous, it’ll go down nicely with piping hot custard. I’ll have to make one for my family.

I’d heard of it, I knew it was a steamed pudding with some fruit in the middle but I’d never tasted it.

However, I have made a Jamie Oliver version which is chocolate with an orange in the middle; it’s absolutely amazing, especially at Christmas.
