It appears our friendly Swede is too scared to start this thread for fear of reprisals - maybe that’s a conspiracy in itself, but here goes, an opening gambit for discussions.

Who really shot JFK?

Did men really land on the moon?

Did Paul McCartney die and was then replaced by a lookalike Beatle?

Did Leeds get cheated out of their rightful place in European football history?

Was 9/11 faked and who by and to what end?

Did Prince Charles/Philip/The Queen have Lady Di bumped orf?

Are the Royal family lizards?

Is Covid a scam, to make the rich richer and the poor more subservient?

That should do for starters...

The only one that I go for is the the faked moon landings. In reality I accept it happened (probably) but:

a) it's the most fun to speculate on

b) there was actually some obvious motive, with the cold war space race and shame of America falling behind the Soviets

c) it just seems like such an astonishing thing, sticking some guys in a box made of tin foil on top of a tube full of high explosives and setting off into space to land somewhere no one has ever been (how did they even know the surface was solid?) all backed up by the computational power of a pocket calculator, mark 1 human eyeballs and a bit of 'see how it goes when we get there'.

Sometimes, as unlikely as the faked theory is, it almost seems more likely that what actually happened.

I believe more in cock ups than conspiracy, however one interesting theory I read recently was whether Elizabethan playwright Kit Marlowe actually staged his own death and was the real author of Shakespeares' works. Serious Shakespearian actors think it is plausible.


I've read a bit about the JFK assassination too, and whilst it is a work of fiction, James Ellroy's 'American Tabloid' creates a scenario that doesn't stray into tin foil hat territory. Rogue CIA agents and malcontents may well have plotted Kennedy's murder.
