Corbyn suspended over Labour anti-Semitism report
Labour has suspended former leader Jeremy Corbyn after an inquiry found the party was "responsible for unlawful acts of harassment and discrimination" during his time in charge.
The UK's human rights watchdog identified "serious failings" in dealing with anti-Jewish racism.
And the watchdog said Mr Corbyn's office had "politically interfered" in the complaints process.
Mr Corbyn insisted he did "everything [he] could" to tackle the issue.

Labour have now suspended Corbyn, which indicates that there is to be a disciplinary process against him.This has to been seen as good news for anyone hoping for a Labour Government anytime in the next 10 years. Corbyn was, as many people kept pointing out to his supporters, the main reason why Labour would never be electable with him in charge. IF Labour have the balls to take this opportunity to expel him and anyone else found to have been culpable they will have rid the party of most of the reason why a large percentage of Labour voters deserted the party last election. They will position to start rebuilding some kind of credible opposition, which for goodness sake, shouldn't be difficult with the current Government we have.
If however they fudge this, then even with the buffoons currently in charge of the Tory's there is no chance of them winning.

Reading the report on the BBC, it claims that Mr Corbyn was suspended for failing to retract his remark he made today after the findings were published.

His remark was along the lines of "anti semitism in the Labour party is over exaggerated "

I read it as he was not suspended for any action during his time as leader, but for saying what he said today.

Even Captain hindsight probably had some foresight on this one!

I mentioned how Corbyn was a very dangerous man, and people scoffed at it.


So is this time to ditch the Labour Party and reform?

If they want to ditch the far left tag, and the stains, they will need to re-boot IMO.

so this is the first significant step in the directionthet labour are re-restructuring to New-New Labour, or 'tory -light' in an attempt to regain power.

If only we had a decent liberal party.

Saying what you want instead of saying what people want to hear... definitely a reason to suspend someone in the world of politics...

I'm not sure how suspending an ex-leader who failed to tackle racism and then failed to retract his previous statements despite it all going through a legal process makes Labour 'tory-light' ?

More noise about anti-semitism. The conservative press did very well to paint Corbyn as a monster, look at the posts on this thread already as support for that. If they'd not been so desperate to paint him in a negative light, maybe this country would be in a better place than it currently is. Unfortunately for him, he was leader in the time of Brexit and he totally disagreed with his party on the direction they should take. He was where the majority of the country was - no strong position either way and whether remaining or leaving would be better largely depends on the actions taken as a result of the vote. The vote was to leave, he accepted that but didn't want anything to do with it.

Weren’t his exact words “I do not accept all of its [the reports] findings”? Bit different from your version of what he said. And we wonder why some people do believe the anti-semitism row is ‘over exaggerated’ ???

We still do have a decent Liberal Party but it was hung out to dry 9 years ago for the tuition fees fiasco. A life sentence for a relatively minor first offence, whilst the Tories get away with murder on a daily basis.
