Not sure if anyone has seen this?

One of the most incredible real life under cover documentaries I've seen, made all the more incredible that it was done by 2 private citizens working under an investigative film maker who infiltrate NK networks over 10 years.

2 part series on BBC iplayer came out couple of days ago. Won't spoil it, but the level of detail and the multi million elicit deals and countries it takes them too as they get more deeply involved is incredible - Bit edge of the seat in the second part.

Downside is you'd guess a few of the people in the undercover film are going to face retribution from Kim Jong Un

Would be a good story if it was fiction, the fact its real was pretty eye opening.

Watched and enjoyed that, amazing that they managed to fool the top brass in N Korea, I imagine a few of those may well 'go missing ' if they haven't already. Mr James was brilliant but I couldn't help think the mole was absolutely clueless, perhaps that's why he was so successful at it!? An unemployed chef bimbling around trying to do arms deals with shady N Koreans, I guess he just went with it and didn't overthink it.

Its real life "McMafia",isnt it ,?
would imagine Alesandro, stoneface and the Kims will be pretty mugged off about that episode of Storyville

Mr James is a dude, but Ulrich is also a brave mother f***er, maybe being the bumbling, grey boring guy is the perfect cover?

I think i'd shat myself if I was in that deep.

Interesting. Going to find a way to watch it.

I visited NK eleven years ago when I was part of a socialist student group in Sweden. Was a very interesting journey and I'm in complete agreement with parts of the juche ideology.

Some weird things happened when we got back though. The guy who initiated the trip got a high position job at the Swedish part of a big international security company only months after we got back, while still living in a student corridor. I've often wondered if our trip to NK really was about something else than just studying the country.

Oh! Its Mads Brügger who made it.

I watched his documentary Cold Case Hammarskjöld a few weeks ago. Very interesting documentary about foreign, mainly UK, secret services having a 5000 man secret organisation in South Africa carrying out various missions in Africa in order to keep their power over African natural resources.

It was quite controversial as it stated, among other things, that this organisation was involved in murdering Dag Hammarskjöld (secretary-general of the UN who wanted to give African countries power of their own resources) as well as spreading HIV in Mozambique through what was officially "vaccine clinics".

Worth a watch if you can find it.

I watched the first part on iPlayer last night. Absolutely brilliant stuff. I was gonna watch the 2nd part straight away but chanced upon a much better mystery/suspense - the 2nd half of England v Denmark. (The mystery part, of course, being how did Gareth S become an international manager.....

2nd part is better, the really juicy stuff starts going down!

Sometimes reality is even better than fiction.


But not, unfortunately, in the case of Gareth Southgate!
