In these unprecedented times no one knows what the future holds, but wondered if any football clubs that go bust during a season from now on, at whatever level EPL downwards, face automatic relegation as they are insolvent?

It's an automatic points deduction in the EFL applied at the end of the season, assuming the club is still trading.

Not sure why they would change the current system to massively inflate the punishment when it is clear more clubs will go into administration over the next few years.

If anything, it should go the other way... Clubs going into Administration and subsequently rescued (provided they don't miss games) shouldn't be punished.

I would caveat this that it's a one-season deal born out of Covid. It should revert back to normal next season so the usual candidates (*cough*Palace*cough*) don't get a 2p in the £ opportunity to f*CK their suppliers and HMRC.

El Pres, I think you said last season it cost £10k plus VAT per match for VAR. Was that just of it was the FA Cup? If that was the cost for every PL game think of the better things that money could go towards

Drop in the ocean compared to the millions some clubs gave just spent on players ..their agents and player wages

We need to stop seeing football as a single entity. It’s 92 separate businesses who when push comes to shove would (and do!) cut each others throats.

Will that time has arrived - the blood letting begins!

avoiding relegation will be a matter of staying solvent this season.

Not right for Div 1/2 and maybe National League clubs to go under because of loss of gate money. Would suggest each club shows what matchday income they had last season (some will only be about £1m) and PL/ clubs pay this. Start with saving they are making by not paying parachute payment to WBA and Fulham
Championship is difficult. Many genuine clubs could be in trouble but some on parachute payments and others just throw money at trying for promotion. Dont know how you deal with this as cant gift them say £1/2m and then find paying a new player £25k a week.
As far as below National league simple just stop paying players until things back to normal
