a galaxy far far away
Just say we were willing to sell ..... we're not, but just say we were .... Tariq just moved from Chelsea because he wanted game time and wanted to progress by playing regular minutes in a top league. It doesn't sit well with buggering off to Bayern after 10 or so apps

Someone says this every season, Bloom only sells the unwanted.

It feels different this year. Previously we had dunk who would attract a big gun but now we have loads. It is genuinely exciting and is a great thing. If we do start selling players for megabucks then we can reinvest etc.

It is a brilliant time to be an Albion fan. Compare now to that New Year’s Day match at plainmoor in 1997 when Garry Nelson scored a late winner and the Brighton and Torquay fans were all jumping up and down and chanting about archer just to stay warm (pitch was frozen and the players wore Astro shoes and it should never have been played).

It is effing marvellous.

Exactly. Lamptey would only be a backup to Pavard. A pointless transfer story really.

Was obviously gonna start getting linked to massive clubs at some stage. However, Bayern have some pretty good options at right back, Max Aarons would be a far cheaper option for them as we have no obligation to sell. Bloom doesn't sell unless it makes sense and Lamptey will want a guaranteed starting place and if he couldn't get it at Chelsea he won't at Bayern either.

I am under no illusion that with a squad full of seriously talented young footballers that we may lose a few however I also know we'll get top money for them and the recruitment team will do their best to improve the squad with it. There's going to be lots of rumours like this flying around we're gonna have to get used too it like the Dunk to Chelsea one that pops up every year. White to Liverpool and Lamptey to Bayern the next two. Alzate to City will probably pop up at some point in the near future.

Will Bayern Munich pay the expensive air fees for Tariq Lamptey to import his mums Jollof into Germany???

Anyway he won't want to be away from his family this early in his career.

When he is ready to move on he will be off.

Hopefully that is when we still have a contract with him and we can make some money on the deal.
Don't want to make the same mistake that Chelsea made/

Reported by The Argus now, same source that broke our interest in Suttner.

Very disappointing the Argus should print this.

If it is true, the German club have obviously not shared their interest with the club.

As others have implied, the response would be ‘not for sale’ or that they’d have to fork out Maguire sized money for the lad.

It’s clickbait but Bayern are more likely to be signing a martian.

Obviously he’s unlikely to go yet but Bayern would actually be a really good move for him when he is ready. Pavard is really a centre back and Lamptey would be ahead of him pretty quickly IMO.

He and Alphonso Davies on the wings would be an incredible prospect!

Can't see this happening unless we loan him to Leeds first.

Imagine the media and hype the lad would get if he was at Leeds under Biesla?

You’d see the weekend papers full of specials on him, football focus would do a piece, they’d be a massive image of him behind Shearer on MOTD as they analysed his amazing impact and declared him one of the best signings Leeds has ever made and he’d be guaranteed first team football at the northern club because they actually invest in young players and give them a chance.

Poor lad being stuck with us!

I can just imagine Bayern offering 15m getting declined then being like " it's more than we were prepared to pay but here's 25m" and expecting us to accept then being laughed out of negotiations. If Harry Maguire goes for 80m and AWB goes for 50m and Ben Chillwell goes for 50m you ain't getting Lamptey for 15 or 25.

He’s too important to be let go and he was just brought in! Would be insane to sell him this early - his stock at the end of the season can be even higher than 25-30 IMO. But as someone who also supports Bayern - I’d love to see him in another team I support :D

As far as I can see, Lamptey is faster, and a better crosser of the ball than Chilwell. He's a better defender than AWB, and he's a lot more mature than Maguire*.
God knows why Chelsea sold him.

*Admittedly not a high bar...

They want the next Alphonso Davies! Same age. Davies is worth £70m or something...
Not as good obviously ;)

I wonder what Lamptey's current buyout clause is?

Perhaps this is all coming from the agent who wants a new contract for Lamptey.
Which probably isn't a bad idea.
Would be nice to make sure his buyout clause is nice and high.

Being stuck with us is probably the best thing for him at the moment. Playing in a young exciting team under a grounded coach with no expectation is the perfect place to exceed. Too many young players go to big clubs too soon and the pressure destroys them. Zaha being a great example he's now probably stuck at a club he doesn't wanna be at till he retires. Lamptey will be playing week in week out with us, in a team which dominates possession and chances in most games it's a great environment he will only improve.

You're dead right though regarding Leeds. Really don't get why the media in particular are so obsessed with them.

I wonder if Uncle Tone sits there and chuckles when he sees all these rumours flying around and shouts through to PB, 'Paul, you seen this one about Tariq and Bayern?', 'yeah, mugs!'
