3 game suspension which applies to ALL first-team matches, so two of the three matches are the Preston game tonight and the Man United Carabao Cup 4th round tie next week, so he'll only miss one PL match (against United on Saturday).

It's a 3 game ban for a red given for serious foul play, the same as violent conduct. I posted an image from the players handbook back on post #112 that confirms this.

If it was downgraded to serious foul play wouldn't that mean he's served his 1 match ban v Preston and can play against Man U?
Edit: No I see SFP is also 3 matches.

It wasn’t a tackle and it wasn’t a foul - it was a dangerous attempt to back-heel a ball high behind his head, and that’s quite rightly been seen as serious foul play Because I don’t think they have anything in the rules to describe it accurately. Shame, and unnecessary really, done on the spur of the moment without thinking of what could happen. We will miss him a lot because he has become a key player for us.

He has become a key player, but we do have pretty good back up. Just think a few years ago having the likes of Gross, Propper, Mac Allister on the bench!
