Anyone recall a U18 player Mathew Weaire ? My local club Leiston have just signed him on loan from Colchester Utd. Must admit I'd never heard of him but sounds like a promising young player . Will be interesting to see how he settles in over the coming weeks .

Weaire attended Imberhorne School in East Grinstead. As a youngster he played for Roffey Robins United, was in the youth system at Three Bridges and had a trial at Chelsea during his U-13 season of 2013-14 before joining Albion that same campaign. His mother is Danish and he was called up to a Danish U-16 squad in September 2016 and a training camp in November 2016.

He commenced his scholarship with Albion in the summer of 2017. He played for the U-18s in 2017-18, had one match on work experience at Crowborough and was an unused substitute for the Albion U-23s in the Sussex Senior Cup Final victory over Crawley Town at the Amex Stadium in May 2018. However, he never actually played for the U-23s. At the end of October 2018 he joined Gosport Borough on loan and made 11 starts with a couple of substitute appearances.

Released by Albion at the end of his scholarship, he joined Colchester United on a two-year deal in July 2019.

He didn't play too many games for us ,after being dropped for one of our FA cup matches his old man didn't agree with the decision and he went back to Colchester. Looked a decent player at this level ( step 3) but can't see him playing any higher

He's bought in a lot of young talented players from lower leagues, play some lovely football but very difficult for them in this league . Southern Central is far more physical than the Isthmian which puts us at a disadvantage at the moment but sure they'll grow stronger and compete well in a season or two . We beat Worthing in Trophy who were top of Isthmian when we were bottom of Southern without a win , purely because the game was not as physical which gave us the opportunity to play football .
