Ryan - 6 - don’t think he needed to bring Werner down like he did. Also don’t think he needed to give Alzate the ball there under such pressure - go long occasionally
Lamptey - 8 - really, really good. Starting to read the game defensively better & use his pace to get tackled in more.
White - 7 - Few too many stray passes but some good stuff on his debut in the prem. Glad he got some experience in the lower leagues with Leeds & Newport.
Dunk - 7 - Still our key man - should have buried header.
Webster - 7 - Shouldn't have stuck foot out at a weak shot but made some great passes and looked better than last season
March - 6.5 - Always a 6 or 7 for me. Some good stuff, some frustrating.
Lallana - 6.5 - Neat and tidy - intricate passing and great technically.
Alzate - 6.5 - Clearly a bad error for the first but played pretty well apart from that. Some nice turns to open up space.
Bissouma - 7 - Gets better all the time - couple of class passes out wide.
Trossard - 6.5 - Too lightweight as per usual at times but got on the ball a lot. Wish he’d try and beat people more - same with March - Lamptey does it and he’s a full back!
Maupay - 5 - Should have scored header I feel - didn’t get the ball enough.

Connolly - 5 - Also didn’t get the ball enough - tried hard.

Ryan 6 His pass to alzate was reasonable but not sure he needed to fly out to their striker. It pretty much guaranteed we’d concede a penalty and risked a red card. Otherwise sound.

Lamptey 8. Not often you see a fullback transform the dynamic of a whole team, but Lamptey has. Fast and intelligent. excellent player.

Dunk 6. He’ll have nightmares about that header.

White 7 Impressive debut. Fits in with our style. Looked well up for it. He should be an important player for us this season.

Webster 6. Some good moments, some sloppy moments.

March 8. Strong runs, lots of energy. Good work.

Alzate 5 Sorry but he looked like a novice tonight, and his careless error was disastrous.

Bissouma 6. So so performance.

Lallana 7. Has authority and added something different in midfield, we have been lacking,

Trossard 8. The most encouraging aspect of last night was Trossard. Noticeably quicker than last season.

Maupay 5. Ineffective and should have nailed first half header.

Connolly 5. Showed some energy but obvs We need to recruit a forward. Connolly very much has the L-plates on.

Ryan 6 - a couple of smart saves
Lamptey 9 - superb again
March 7 - gave us great width down the left. Final ball let him down
White 8 - very promising Premier League debut. Let’s hope it’s not as bad as it looks
Webster 6 - unfortunate deflection
Dunk 7 - looked slightly leggy to me
Bissouma 7 - I the usual swashbuckling performance
Lallana 5 - I thought he looked off the pace from the start.
Alzate 5 - gifted them the first goal and could have done better with a couple of half chances. Green.
Trossard 6 - great goal, looked much better when he went back into midfield
Maupay 5 - not his night

Connolly 5 - Marked down a point for that beard/hair combo
Gross and Ali J 5 - no impact

Ryan 6 Rush of blood for the penalty after another suicide 'Propper' pass
Lamptey 9 Full of energy and enthusiasm
March 8 Worked hard and confidence grew by the minute
White 6 Solid opener but gave possession away too often with headers or long balls
Webster 5 Would have been a 6 but for dangling a leg for the o.g
Dunk 6 Not his best at either end
Bissouma 7 Provided the energy in midfield
Alzate 4 Boy doing a man's job. Too lightweight. Needs to go on the Trossard diet.
Lallana 6 A couple of nice touches, mostly didn't notice him till the injury.
Maupay 5 Seemed off the pace till the injury, more so after it.
Trossard 8 Strong opener and quality finish for the goal

The sum of the whole was better than the individual parts, but Chelsea were there for the taking if we had more end product to our game. Despite looking rusty at times, we still played some attractive football. Not a bad start by any means, but we could do with a bigger fella upfront.

Ryan 6 - Little he could do with all goals. Werner was always looking to be brought down.
Lamptey 9 - MOM performance once again. Inevitable top six club interest pending..
White 6 - Solid performance.
Dunk 7 - Thought he was brilliant defensively, all centre backs look comfortable in a three. "And Dunk must score"..
Webster 7 - Again very comfortable in a three. Solid.
March 8 - Defenders probably our stand out performers, despite the result. Looked good going forward. Never in doubt, Solly.
Bissouma 7 - Linked well with Alzate.
Alzate 6 - See above. Learning curve for him tonight, very sloppy pass for first goal.
Lallana 5 - Shame about injury. Showed glimpses of why we took the risk.
Maupay 5 - Didn't get into the game. Should've done better with headed chance.
Trossard 6 - Again, failed to assert himself on the game. Took his goal well.

Connolly 6 - Made a nuisance of himself.
Gross 5 - Felt the game was over by the time they arrived.
Jahanbaksh 5 - Felt the game was over by the time they arrived.

I honestly thought we would go on to win the game when we came back to 1-1, but James' screamer knocked the stuffing out of us. A good performance overall and we were mostly better than them. We'll play worse and win this season.

Ryan: 6 - Had little to do other than the penalty...i get why he came out to cover Werner, but he did have cover...but in the moment he did what he thought best. No chance at all with the other goals.

White: 7 - Good debut. A few sloppy passes but 2 great blocks to foil attacks/goals. He'll do well.
Webster: 7 - Looked good, didnt do too much wrong. Unfortunate for the 3rd; stuck an instinctive boot out and it went wrong. Good performance overall though.
Dunk: 7 - assured as always, but really, really should have buried that header.

Lamptey: 9 - This kid really is the bollocks. Quick, instinctive, reads the game well...and at times our greatest attacking threat.
Bissouma: 8 - becoming the box-to-box midfielder we knew he could be. Not his best night, but he is the 1st midfielder on the teamsheet for me.
Lallana 7 - Looked good until he came off - nothing spectacular, but he didn't need to.
Alzate 6 - He put in a shift, but he'll be disappointed that he Did A Propper - almost looked too casual at times. He'll learn from this.
March: 6.5 - Was a good outlet and make James look like a prat on a couple of occasions - but he just needs to believe in his own ability and take players on. I like him at LWB.

Trossard 7: Before the goal, I was wondering if the experiment playing him up top was working...then he scores, cos thats what he does. Could impose himself more, but not a bad game.
Maupay 6: Will want to re-do his 1st half header but didnt have many chances other than that. Still, ran for the cause and did ok.

Connolly: 6 - Pretty much like Maupay; ran, tried to force problems for the Chelsea backline but apart from one snapshot at the near post, I can't remember him threatening much.
Gross: 6 - Seemed to come in in a deep-lying role which seemed odd, but he didn't have much time to impact the game.
Jahanbakhsh: 6 - Again, not much time to impose himself but out on the right of midfield and made some good touches when drifting in the middle.

Ryan - 6 - Possibly could have pulled out of the Werner challenge but that's being harsh. No chance with the other two
Lamptey - 8 - Great forward runs and some good crosses
White - 7 - Often the last man and stood up to their forwards well
Dunk - 7 - Marshalled the defence well
Webster - 6.5 - Unfortunate with the goal,
March - 7 - Played well but I'd really like more of those runs to the byline to result in a cross
Lallana - 6 - Some good, incisive passes and looked like he'll make a difference. Glad his injury is only cramp
Alzate - 5 - Looked a litle rusty and caught in possession but has the talent to recover and be a big part of this season for us
Bissouma - 7.5 - Covered every blade of grass. Impressive
Trossard - 7.5 - Looks a real bright spark. Great goal and will be a big threat for us this season
Maupay - 6 - Worked very hard as usual, should have scored but too often on the peripheral

Subs - 6 - Didn't really make an impact

I think people are overmarking tbh. The performance was ok. 8's and 9's from a 1-3 loss seems a little over the top.
We are still a bit ponderous at times. The intricate little passes around the box are nice to see, but aren't really threatening to do any damage yet.
Hopefully the players will gel over the next few weeks and we will start to see more rewards

Ryan 5.5 - Concedes 3 and gives away a penalty. No way is that going to get a 6! Not at fault for Alzate's pass though.
Lamptey 7.5 MOTM strong performance from him. gets an extra 0.5 for destroying Zouma's nuts. My personal highlight from the game
White 6 Solid performance, great block on Werner. tried to showcase his long passes a little too much and few came off.
Webster 5 . Defensively ok, but has to be marked down for the OG, which killed the game
Dunk 5.5 - Not up to his usual standard and that header! Big miss. ( Chelsea Fan!)
March 7 - Strong performance - Showed he's good enough. but with increasingly fewer players in the box, feel the effort was wasted last night.
Bissouma 6 - Decent performance again.
Alzate 5.5 - Marked down for the **** up, but outside that he had a decent game, Decent shot shortly after the first goal and several good turns to make space in the final third ( makes his **** up a bit more annoying)
Lallana 6 - Would be the player to make the difference if he wasn't made of crisps. Worrying
Maupay 5 Not at the races today
Trossard 6.5 - decent strike for the goal ( No Neville, it wasn't a weak shot, that the keeper should have routinely saved, you ****ing bellend!).

Gross 6. always composed and classy, but not able to make a difference
Connolly 5 - No impact
Ali J 5 - No impact

Alzate 5.5 -- two off due to the error; classy besides that and he'll cut open organised blocks, but if he gifts the opposition a goal, there's no point him doing that. I hope (and expect) that the error was actually a good thing: it'll focus his attention, and I wasn't expecting to get anything out of Chelsea anyway

Trossard 8 -- an absolute menace for the first 70 or so minutes, thereafter we visibly tired. He's in a rich vein of form
Maupay 4 -- really poor game

Ryan 7 - Couldn't do much about the result. Solid enough despite being a bit shaky with his distribution.

Lamptey 9 - Best player on the pitch only downer was a needless yellow.

White 8 - Brilliant gonna be a big player for us, shame about the injury

Dunk 7- Defensively sound couldn't do much about the goals, should have scored though.

Webster 6 - Played well but the third goal could have been avoided.

March 8 - Fantastic game, beat his man all night, defensively sound, needs to put in some better crosses though.

Alzate 5 - Stupid mistake he'll hopefully learn from. Arguably played a big part in winning the midfield battle against a world cup winner and Italian international. He played well but cost us a goal. It happens.

Bissouma 7 - Fantastic as usual maybe tries to over do it a bit with his dribbling, shooting wasn't great but his passing was.

Lallana 6 - Played well will offer us a lot but clearly not fully up to match speed yet hence the injury.

Maupay 5 - Busy as always in closing down and getting into positions but never really looked a real threat, think he needs some help up there.

Trossard 8 - Reads the game beautifully, fantastic goal didn't really put a foot wrong. Think there's a good chance he gets to double figures this season.

Ryan 5 - didn't have a whole lot to do but didn't excel at what he did have to do

Lamptey 9 - MOTM - outstanding performance, might have to ask him to tone it down before deadline day!
White 8 - looked good and certainly not overawed by the occasion, shame about the injury
Dunk 6 - would have been 7 but missed the big chance to equalise
Webster 6 - looking more and more assured, but again a silly mistake for their third
March 7 - did what we know he can do (make runs, put some good balls in), wasn't really tested defensively

Alzate 6 - made the big error for their first but looked assured and comfortable on the ball
Bissouma 8 - another composed performance, looks a world away from the player he was 12 months ago
Lallana 6 - a few nice touches and passes before injury

Trossard 8 - good finish, some good build-up play once he'd dropped back
Maupay 6 - didn't see a lot of it but had a couple of opportunities he should have done better on

Subs:
Connolly 6 - ran around a lot, didn't do a great deal, not convinced he's the 2nd striker yet
Gross 6 - didn't do much in his cameo
