It’s their 3rd kit. Their away one is dark grey.
I, for one, think it is admirable they are reducing their carbon foot print by using the cut-offs from Newcastle and Notts County kits to make their third kit. It is great that a company as globally visible as Man Utd are taking recycling seriously.

Its the club that has the final say on the design. Design approval is part of the process. Changing from Nike will not change the strip if the club decides it doesn't feel like stripes next season.
For what its worth, I didn't like the kit on reveal but having seen it on pitch now I've changed my mind.

Bold move with the shorts too. One we’ll talk about for years to come and might even end up a classic. If you wanna make a bit of money buy one and shove it in the loft and wait for 30 years. Then again you could do that with most kits.
