Lineker is very left wing , so can come across as a bit patronising and pompous when he starts to lecture ordinary working class people about certain things that clearly won’t have any impact on him because of the huge salary he earns .

I’m not going to go into any details as I don’t want to start a binfest but in the past these types of people have been termed champagne socialists .

He’s also not very bright so often makes statements that he thinks make him sound all PC but there’s no thought behind it .

Could you please explain exactly what that figure means? 9% of counties, 9% of cities, 9% of the land mass (to what density), 9% of houses, 9% of chimney breasts, 9% of fields?,9% seems a pretty meaningless figure until qualified.

Isn't it pretty self explanatory?

How on earth can you construe my post as racism? I’m referring to the refugee issue as a whole, hence why I use the term ‘These people’ the point of my post was to say that, what is the right and wrong? I always see people bleating on about how migrants and refugees should be allowed in, but whats the actual answer? Please enlighten me, because the guy who quoted me named a few success stories, but you can’t base giving someone asylum or U.K. status based on if they are going to be a success, unless you have a crystal ball.

And that in itself is prejudice, what is the answer? Open the borders to everyone? Don’t allow anyone? Allow some? Reject others? Allow people in based on how desperate they are? I don’t know, you tell me, don’t make baseless accusations of racism, it’s becoming unbelievable how quickly people accuse people of such a serious thing. I find people who dehumanise such desperate people despicable, FWIW.

I'm not a guy. A good example of jumping to conclusions.

No, nobody can predict the future, because if we could then some children would never have been born.
We are all human beings and our nationality or place of birth is not something anyone can choose.

My point was about population density, both now and in the future as it appears to be increasing at a decent rate.

Thanks for explaining. We are pretty densely populated, but not half as much as the Netherlands, ( ok a little over half as much i looked it up) and they seem to both be able to cope and produce large amounts of food.

It's so easy to dismiss people isn't it? He's not very bright, he's very left wing, there's no thought behind it, these types of people.

All designed to say them and us. 'I can disregard him, because he isn't like me'.

Possibly since a simple question was posed.

Due to our situation and rapidly increasing population density, is there a limit?

The usual suspects have turned it into a 'beware Johnny Foreigner' thread rather than have any attempt at a constructive response.

Funny isnt it?

Gammon: why don’t you put a refugee up in your mansion?
Lineker: Okay.
Gammon: Errrrrr.

There's a reason he's known as Wellthickwoody. And it isn't to do with trees, or cocks.

You haven’t answered the question. You stated that 9% of the country (I presume that means the UK) is populated. It is a very ambiguous statement. Just seeking some clarification, or definition, or a source? Or is that too much to ask?

Isn’t that the exact definition of trolling?

I only asked a question

Trolling? What in god's name are you on about? Just because you struggle with a basic statistic, I'm trolling? Lol. :lolol:

I'm stepping away now as I'll not be drawn in by idiot racists (yes, I realise I just was but I'm out now).

perhaps GL could have said . . . .heres £50k toward a 'lodge' for 3 months . . . . and suggested a few other minters chip in too . . .thereby putting themselves in the philanthropic sector whilst legitimately questioning the latest press porkies and distancing themselves from the S*n/Mail twatzone.

it would be offset against tax so be little more than a few days wages.
