S21 and the nearby killing fields are the best museums/memorials I've ever visited.

Very poignant.

Good riddance to that maniac.

We went to Cambodia to evacuate people after finding ourselves in the area at the wrong time, following our excursion to Da Nang in Vietnam to do the same thing there, although, Da Nang was to mainly to find the British consul there, Rex Hunt. Trouble just follows that bloke.
Being just off the coast facing jungle was a bit unnerving, as any threat could see us, but we couldnt see them. Asked our helicopter pilot why they were flying a large RN flag beneath the helo when travellling in and out to the city. He said so they could recognise we were British haha ... er sir, these people have been fighting in the jungle for years, im not sure they have been to many flag recognition classes, We knew something big and bad was happening, but had no sense of the scale off it. Just wearing glasses was getting people executed just on the basis that they were intellectuals. Terrible time.

Your comparing Putin to a mass murderer??

Beggars belief.

Indeed.

I have often felt that people trivialise the Cambodian genocide.

I suspect this is because of racism.

Putin arranges the death of a couple of exiles living in the UK and suddenly he's up there with someone who killed thousands of yellow people. Nice

Sorry. I didn't realise that Putin was only responsible for the one misdemeanour. Other than that, he's obviously a really nice bloke.

I suppose you can argue that there is no difference between ordering the deaths of one, 100, 1,000, 10,000 or 100,000.

And perhaps there is no difference between ordering the deaths of people and actually being there to supervise the torture and murder of men women and children.

Personally I think there is a difference and I don't believe the choices are simply to say (i) Putin is as bad as the Cambodian or (ii) Putin is a nice man.

FFS

Aren't you simply being made aware of the facts that Putin - whilst a power hungry neo-narcissist with blood on his hands - is really not comparable to people who undertake genocide in the name of a political system.

Sorry, but You've just responded like a child who has been told off there. If you disagree, explain why. Don't lower yourself to that. Come on mate, you're better than that.

The Dutch Government who believe that he sanctioned the shooting down of a Commercial Aeroplane might disagree. All conjecture of course.

The people of Georgia and Chich-nya might also disagree - Again Conjecture

He didn't sanction it. There's a big possibility that he sanctioned troops going into Ukraine, but the people that sanctioned the shooting of MH17 were Igor Girkin, Oleg Pulatov (who has retained legal counsel for the trial), Sergey Dubinskiy and Leonid Kharchenko.

Please don't spread misinformation in which is a very sore subject already for The Netherlands.

I think my point was simply that on a thread about this monster there seems little point whatbouting about others. Putin? Hitler? Jimmy Savile? Bring them on.

Or better still, don't.

Putin should of been given the peace prize a few years back for thwarting an imminent Western invasion of Syria! Saved alot of lives, including British servicemen no doubt.

Mmmmmm.....one way of looking at it.

I regard him as an extremely dangerous psychopath, but that's another story.
