OK if you dont like working but its an job. May play perhaps 2 under 23 games a season. Dont understand why dont go out on loan with an immediate recall clause.

You can only recall players in January as far as I know.

Even if it was possible with immediate recalls, you want a third choice keeper if someone gets sick shortly before a game, injured in warm-up or whatever.

Considering the total number of games that Krul/Button & Steele have had to play due to sickness/injury/suspension of Ryan in 3 seasons is 0 I cannot see the need for a 3rd choice keeper to be over 21. There must be a youngster who would benefit from a matchday experience with the squad if we even missed Ryan for a game or two

Steele is more of a goalkeeping coach for the younger players than a 3rd choice like how Ankergren spent his last few years with us before retiring. Think he’s in the process of doing his badges
