[Albion] Nutty Rules for Attending the Amex

I'm wondering who is responsible for the nutty rules governing seating arrangements for the friendly against Chelsea? I'd assumed that they would only use alternate rows of seats, and that fans registered at the same address would be able to sit together, with the booking system automatically blocking out the required number of empty seats to either side of each group. Then everyone can use the empty rows to access their seats safely. Easy!

But instead they've distanced EVERY individual, and used ALL the rows, making access as difficult as possible while denying families the right to sit together. This is nuts.

They've also introduced Wembley's nutty rule on bag sizes, with an A4 template (21cm x 30cm x 21cm). There are NO bags available in this size. The ones that claim to be A4 are actually much larger, but have been designed to take A4 documents comfortably. Most shopping bags and carrier bags will not fit into this template. The only bags that will fit are some of the smallest of womens' handbags. Nuts.

I wonder how many realistically they can get in the amex with the distancing rules. People sit closer on buses, and by that rule you could fit at least 15,000 in the ground.
And being outside helps. It's just the concourse they need to sort out.

Jeez you'd think people who want to go would be grateful they might actually get the chance...

I bought a BHAFC bag two years ago from the club shop. I took it to Wembley last year, which passed their test so it is A4 size.

I do agree that same households should be able to sit together. I wouldn't want to go with children and have to space them out 4 seats apart. What happens if a child runs to its parent for something? Do they both get escorted out by stewards?

Yeah, sorry. Put up with it, it's a small sacrifice and a test environment. It doesn't follow the seating arrangements will be the same come the season start.

I completely agree with the OP. I have got a ticket to the match but I will now not be going. The only hand bag I have got that is the right size will clash with my newly acquired home shirt. Barber Out.

Early days yet and positive steps in the right direction. Funny enough, I've also seen people on Twitter complain about not being able to sit right next to their family. Just be grateful and happy they're allowing fans at all!

It's a small TEST event, specially approved by the Government FFS - THEY will have set the rules. The rules aren't nutty, they are rightly extremely cautious and perhaps the booking system simply can't cope with what you're suggesting anyway ?

I was at the hospital on Monday for day surgery and we only sat one seat apart.

Even with ALL these Covid safety rules to follow I SHALL be going, along with a mate who will be next to me but socially distanced.

It would take a hell of a lot more rules to stop me going to see my team play when I haven't been to a football game for FIVE months
